Pilates

Intensity: Low to Moderate

A floor based exercise suitable for beginners and intermediates working on both body and mind aimed to reshape the body focusing on the core, balance, posture and flexibility while giving you the time and space to relax.

At the heart of a Pilates workout is a strong core. You’ll work on strengthening your core, which leads to better posture. You’ll then work from your centre outwards, building strength and flexibility with a mixture of resistance, repetition, dynamic movement and stretching.

Pilates is one of a few disciplines of exercise that are both challenging and calming at the same time. At the end of your Pilates class you should feel relaxed but like you’ve had an intense workout, and the results will quickly show in a strong, supple body and calmer state of mind.

Pilates classes focus just as much on the joints and bones as they do on the muscles. With your spine aligned and healthier joints you’ll walk taller, sit straighter and feel more flexible.
